3.15.05   The Jacka    Rasputin Berkeley

The Jacka is back at it with another tight CD coming out of the Bay Area. Coming out of the Mob Figaz camp, he isn’t new to the Bay rap scene. Back with the Mob Figaz, he was spotlighted as one of the members who was the “future”. Many fans and other rappers knew it was only a matter of time before the Jacka went solo.

Jacka’s first, self-titled album was an instant hit in the Bay. He had many guests on that project, including NY-based rapper Cormega. Jacka’s hit single was a song that took off in the streets first, called “Hey Girl”. In 2004, he put out a mixtape with some of his Mob Figaz buddies and Keak Da Sneak and B.A. of 3xKrazy, called Dope Game. This gave the Jacka a little limelight before his second solo project hit the streets.

Jacka said to me that 2005 was going to be a good year for him, and it has started really well. Jack Artist has been flying off the shelves. The instore on street date was off the hook, with guys getting’ rowdy and the Jacka showing his appreciation to the people who support him. Check Jack Artist, it features Mob Figaz, Yukmouth, Cormega and Roblo on the beats. – Tjader, rap dept.
