First of all, I am a bit peeved, because this watermarked disc has only five tracks off the new album Dark Light. So my review will be of each song…since they took away the fun from reviewing albums, BOO! 1) Wings of A Butterfly: Great guitar riffs, very theatrical and reminiscent of an 80’s rock ballad. It all sounds a bit too polished, the lyrics are dramatic and full of descriptions of how love feels like ripping the wings off the butterfly. Ouch, how mean! 2) Killing Loneliness: The intro is so brilliantly composed with the juxtaposition between the piano chords and the over processed guitar riff. The lyrics are really pretty and almost boy band-ish, but the music is not…I am a bit worried at how emo and woosy this band is and how much the Bam Margera meat-heads adopt this band…do they know how sappy it is? 3) Vampire Heart: Another ballad…it is getting a bit old and pretentious, and I even think they sort of take the riff from the Exorcist, and use it as their beat. They do rock though, as far as being a tight band with a great drummer who fills in, at all the right places. Great drum solo ending. 4) Dark Light: The vocals on this ballad are a bit deeper than the other songs. It is very, very sexy. This is definitely a song to dedicate to that special lady with a dark streak about her... 5) Under the Rose: The most upbeat song of theirs, it is a really cool song, no doubt. Yet, it still feels overproduced. Overall these Finnish rockers are a bit too heartfelt for me…but they rock nonetheless. - Clara Flores
