What kind of name is Baumer? How do you pronounce it? Where the hell did they come up with that one? Anyway, easily the best thing about this CD is the balls out guitar tone of Kenny McWilliams. In fact, it’s a little misleading, because what Baumer really is is a slightly confused retro-esque band that obviously looks up to Duran Duran and at the same time wants to embrace the modern electro scene and be ballsy while they’re at it. I’m not saying it’s bad, but it leaves me confused. The beats are a little too leaden to dance to, and when you’re a dance band, that’s what it all boils down to, right? - Will Seeley
