Birdman
Fast Money

(Universal)

Damn nigga, this Birdman (AKA Baby of the Big Tymers) nigga says “nigga” a lot, nigga. If it wasn’t for the word “nigga,” some niggas wouldn’t have a rap career, nigga, especially this nigga, nigga.

If you found the previous paragraph an annoying read, you’ll find Birdman’s “Fast Money” an annoying listen because he seems to only be capable of rhyming “nigga” with “nigga” in between making annoying bird calls (Brrrr!) and lame skits.
Here’s an excerpt from “Ghetto Life” to provide an example of his intricate flow and rhyme scheme, which also sums up the “Fast Money” experience: “We thugged out, wigged out/ come through the neighborhood with the guns out/ Nigga don’t make me drop the top/ don’t give a fuck about the weather ‘cause we still gon’ shine, nigga.”

Even Mannie Fresh, whose production put the Cash Money crew on the pop charts several years ago, doesn’t help the #1 Stunna out, producing only four songs. If it wasn’t for Bun B’s appearance on “Ghetto Life,” the whole album would be waste basket worthy; instead, only 16 of the 17 tracks can get the trash treatment. - Zoneil Maharaj
