 
Don’t immediately skip this review. Yes, Chimaira is one of the high profile metal acts currently strutting around the arena circuit. Yes, they get bunched in with Hatebreed and scores of other insipid meathead metal bands. Yes, I tried very hard to hate this album. In the end, however, Chimaira came through big time. This really is death metal for the main stage. Catchy riffs and simple song structures mean an immediate impression, which is, surprisingly favorable. - Andrew Andermatt
