So, truth be told, I was never a huge fan of MF Doom’s solo career ( the cat’s cool and all but I just ain’t feeling a lot of it) and Danger Mouse’s last album didn’t really do it for me either nor did I think that putting Jay- Z a cappellas over Beatles loops was some amazing musical quantum leap. Sorry. That said, this album’s f**kin’ dope. Danger’s production complements MF Doom’s laidback flow nicely while simultaneously adding life to it. Plus, they were able to get guest appearances from Talib Kweli (“old School”) and the almighty Ghostface (“The Mask”) as well as contributions from Money Mark and Cee-lo. To top it off the entire thing is pretty much an Adult Swim episode including raps from Meat wad and Shake, making for some great blunted coach sessions. - Meat
