JT the Bigga Figga
Neighborhood Superstarz

(215 Records)

JT the Bigga Figga is a Bay Area icon. He and his Get Low Playaz crew have been pimping the industry, putting out Bay hits since the early 90s independently. Ironically, the liner notes in the CD states that this is the album that JT wants the world to hear as his first solo CD. Funny, my brother bought the “Game Recognize Game” tape over 10 years ago.

What most people don’t know is that JT discovered former 50 Cent crony and platinum-plus artist The Game and word is he also discovered G-Unit’s Young Buck. And like any good businessman, he’s making good use of those early recordings by putting a few on the “Neighborhood Superstarsz” album.

For the album, JT employs neighborhood superstars from Vallejo to Long Beach to New Orleans such as E-40, Daz, Juvenile, the Game, and Young Buck of G-Unit. Though the nationally recognizable artists’ appearances might lure listeners to the album, it’s the Bay cats that steal the show.

Though the guests take shine away from JT’s lyrical abilities, he holds it down with the beats, producing each of the 13 tracks. Unfortunately, most are mediocre and won’t get much radio or club play. What it is from start to finish is pure unadulterated west coast gangsta shit. Welcome to the Bay. - Zoneil Maharaj
