The Ladykillers
Welcome to Rock ‘n’ Roll Kid
No. 3 Records

I had a very difficult time disliking this album, there is really nothing wrong with it. The band is tight, harmonic, having fun, playing well. They play rockabilly closer to rock than country, it has a bit of punk in it, yet it doesn’t stand apart. It is not typical because the lyrics are edgy, and it has a lot of heart in it, the vocalist is just singing and not really forcing his voice to sound “good”, he has a raw tone like Joe Strummer, but cleaner and lacking the thick British accent. They just seem like down to earth guys singing about sexy Maneater named “Krystin” (the female version of a Ladykiller…), backstabbing “Two-Faced Men”, and “Drinking with the Boys”, see they are so down to earth the titles to their songs are so to the point and concise. That is what the Ladykillers are all about, rocking hard and rocking old school. -- Clara Flores
