This is one of those CDs that just take you by surprise. It is a compilation of the British band Orange Juice, who are contemporary with Joy Division. One could see how bands like Franz Ferdinand ripped off riffs from them: “Blokes on 45” has indie rock dance track written all over it. The album basically compiles material not available on Polydor records, when they were on Postcard. Their harmonies are simple and clear and they have amazing guitar tone. They have really cool songs like “Poor Old Soul (Pt 1)”, which is awesome to rock out to. - Clara Flores
