The Caesars
Paper Tigers
EMI Music

What an adorably harmonic fantasy. I started out pessimistic about how cliché all of the music is getting, and here come the Caesars to break my depression. It is melodic and clever, the hooks are well put together, and they tie in songs and do not miss a beat. They are acoustic and mellow they make melodies faintly sounding like the Beatles. Their childlike lyrics are whimsical and innocent, “na na nana na na!” And the beat is irresistible! It is as if Oasis’ Gallagher Bros. all of the sudden chilled out and loved each other, they had the right idea but very aggressive, the Caesars are very soothing, they flow so well lyrically and musically. I mean how brilliant is it to end a song “Your Time is Near” as if it were a record being removed suddenly from the turntable, it is completely creative and refreshing to see music return to an innocent place, the only problem I see with this band is that they might sound too naïve for American audiences, it might suffer from being too pretty. -- Clara Flores
