 
The night I watched this, Richard Thompson was performing in town and I pretended that I was watching a live feed from Bimbo’s in the comfort of my apartment. Wearing his trademark beret, Thompson leads his always-excellent band through a 13-song set recorded in 2003. The classics are here: “Tear Stained Letter,” “1952 Vincent Black Lightning,” “Shoot Out The Lights,” “Walking On A Wire” and others, making for a very satisfying set. As a bonus we’re treated to a collection of video clips dating back to 1981 (Videowest’s “Guitar Player Sessions”) and ending with a segment from his appearance on Austin City Limits in 2001. Classy stuff, as always.
